It's alive!

Things keep moving along... I finally have some backgrounds done, which is a relief. I took dozens of photos of the basement set. These two are inside the "secret room" looking into the main basement.

I also completed that stop-motion shot. Right now the door appears to open on its own... but soon there will be a cut-out character opening it.

Happy holidays!

Hey, I was wondering, how do you use tie downs on things such as stairs? I have wondered for awhile, because it seems like they would be harder to use and make than on a normal floor. Thanks!

Yes, that would be trickier. Well if you're using screws and drilling tie down holes from beneath the set you'd have to make the stairs out of wood and make them very sturdy, but with easy access to the hollow area under them. Or if your puppets are light enough you could always use sticky wax to hold them down, and then your stairs wouldn't have to be hollow. There's no stop-motion on these stairs so they're made out of layers of foamcore which was pretty easy to do.
